Bios of Dutch Teachers Participating in KNTT2

Tetske Hoitsma has worked for more than 40 years as a physiotherapist and haptotherapist in various rehabilitation centers. In addition, she has followed years of training in energy work. Guiding people who suffer from the loss of their health and need to find a new balance in their lives has always had her heart. Tetske has been involved with Nyingma Centrum Nederland since 1998 and is a fully authorised Kum Nye teacher and was the first coordinator of the  Kum Nye level 1 Teacher Training.  Tetske recently also taught Caring and Kum Nye Healing.

Monique Verschuuren is a fully authorised Kum Nye teacher and co-coordinator of the current NCN Kum Nye level 1 Teacher Training. Monique also has a background in Sacred Art and has developed programs  inspired by Path of Beauty books of Tarthang Tulku. For Monique, the naturalness and lightness of the Path of Beauty fits seamlessly with the quality of being grounded offered by Kum Nye and she welcomes every opportunity to engage in this.  She studied social pedagogy and psychology and works as a psychologist for a company offering psychological help in the Netherlands.

Rinske Alberts came into contact with Kum Nye during a post-graduate course in family therapy and is retired from life long work in psychiatry. As a fully authorised Kum Nye teacher she is currently co-coordinating the NCN Kum Nye Level 1 Teacher Training together with Monique and Ilonka and she is also teaching a new course called Kum Nye in Daily Life. Her focus is on self-empowerment and on the self-healing capacity of body and mind. She experiences the healing qualities of Kum Nye in her life as a faithful companion that never disappoints.

Inge Barmentlo is trained as a Western sociologist and organizational expert at Leiden University. She works for the Dutch development organization Cordaid as an expert focused on improving health care in Africa. Inge came in contact with Kum Nye yoga and the Nyingma Center in Amsterdam in 1995. Inge is now a fully authorised Kum Nye teacher and is involved in the level 1 Kum Nye teacher training. She has also provided Skillful Means training for MindingWork for businesses on location.

Ton van der Scheer has been teaching Kum Nye in Leiden and at the Nyingma Center in Amsterdam since 2013. Ton followed teacher trainings with Arnaud Maitland for Kum Nye Relaxation, Joy of Being and Kum Nye Dancing. Partly because of this, he has paid extra attention to the more expressive ‘gestures’ of Kum Nye Dance in recent years. Ton studied Medieval History at Leiden University and works as a journalist for a magazine on horticulture
