Thanks Jonathan. I have checked my current British Wheel of Yoga insurance policy which covers an incredible range of related Yoga activities/class types, assuming the teacher has taken appropriate training in the specific area. There’s an incredible list from the obvious usual styles of Yoga, to Tai Chi, Acupuncture, energy healing/therapies and Chinese wand exercises!. Kum Nye is not specifically mentioned. Do you know if anyone has checked with the BWY if it can be included in our cover?

There was a timely article in the BWY Spectrum magazine that arrived this morning, asking for queries regarding additional inclusions to our BWY insurance policy. I have just e-mailed to ask about the inclusion of Kum Nye.I’m insured with BGi; I assume that others (Bram, Lucy) are covered by BWY insurance. It will be interesting to learn if the BWY have heard of Kum Nye. They were not aware of it years ago, so I joined the now sadly defunct Independent Yoga Network.

I have just had the following confirmation from British Wheel of Yoga:“Hi Adele,
I have just checked what our insurance covers (My Resources/Teacher Resources/Insurance) and Kum Nye is covered, so you don’t need to worry about this.

PR Communications Officer”I have just checked again too, and the wording on the insurance list of approved activities now says it includes ‘Kum Nye Relaxation’ so I have responded saying that I assume this includes all Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga, as I wasn’t expecting the word ‘relaxation’ to be there.
That’s good it’s included for us BWY teachers.
